Fire protection of dangerous goods (pharmaceuticals)

Avoid fire and consequential damage with Inergen

If a fire occurs in or around flammable goods (e.g. chemicals), extensive damage can result in record time and have major financial consequences. Extra costs are often incurred from consequential damage from, for example, foam or water, and getting back to normal operations can be a very long process.

Inergen gives you peace of mind and ensures effective extinguishing – without consequential damage should a fire occur.

5 good reasons for using Inergen fire protection

  • Rapid fire detection.

  • Effective ‘3D-extinguishing’ – Inergen penetrates all empty spaces, such as those on shelves or in stacks, for example.

  • Safe for people to be in the room when the system is activated.

  • No consequential damage to materials – quick resumption of operations.

  • The system has obtained all necessary approvals.

With Inergen you avoid costs for cleaning and consequential damage

Fire protection of dangerous goods such as chemicals places special demands on the extinguishing method. An Inergen system provides an efficient, safe solution that typically extinguishes a fire in less than 40 seconds and prevents re-ignition.

Inergen has the great advantage of not causing consequential damage. The reason for this is that Inergen consists only of natural gases. You thus avoid the cleaning costs following water or foam extinguishing and can quickly resume operations after the fire has been put out. Inergen is safe for both the environment and people, and employees can therefore remain in the room when the Inergen is released.

Fire Eater’s Inergen systems are produced in the highest quality and have obtained all necessary approvals. It is the only system designed for the performance of post-installation testing.

Why use Inergen for firefighting?

Fires are rapidly extinguished – typically in just 40 seconds.
No re-ignition later. It extinguishes the fire completely.
Harmless to humans and production.
Prevents secondary damage.

How Inergen works

An Inergen system from Fire Eater uses sensitive detectors that automatically respond to fire and release Inergen via nozzles.

The system employs so-called ‘3D-extinguishing’. This means that the gas – released under pressure – is spread throughout the room, even in hard-to-reach places. This makes the extinguishing method extremely effective and suitable for rooms where space is tight and many products are stored.

Inergen is an easy extinguishing method compared with water or foam. Cleaning up after foam extinguishing, for example, is very costly and it’s highly likely that very many of the products will have to be scrapped afterwards.
