Project engineer training course in the use of IMT software
The purposes of the Fire Eater College project engineer training course are to train project engineers in the use of IMT software and to provide an understanding of the most general guidelines that apply in working with Fire Eater’s Inergen fire protection solutions.

Project engineer training course
The course consists of an approximately 5-hour e-learning course that covers the various components and an introduction to IMT3. You receive a comprehensive introduction to Fire Eater components, e.g. Fire Eater’s Control Inert system (Ci system), stand-alone system, valves and activation options. The introduction includes basic hardware theory within the Fire Eater product range, as well as a review of the applicable rules that may affect how the product should be designed and managed.
The greater part of the course concentrates on the Inergen Management Tool (IMT-software).
We start with a basic online introduction to the IMT software and then work our way through it. This adds up to an advanced understanding of the design principles employed when you need to design, construct and work with Fire Eater fire protection systems.
Skills acquired from the training course
Upon completion of the course, you should be able to design a Fire Eater Inergen system. This will typically involve work with different design aspects: design of piping, calculation of pressure conditions and pipe dimensions for stand-alone and multi-zone systems, and component-list generation for the preparation of tenders.
Terms and conditions
The project engineer training program is practically oriented and you must bring a laptop with you. You must also have administrator access to the laptop to be able to install the IMT software. To provide the best possible training environment, we conduct courses in small teams of 4-6 people at a time.
The course is conducted in English, so you must be able to speak and write English reasonably well. The course concludes with an exam, passing which provides you with a certificate, which is valid for 3 years from the date of issue. Renewal takes the form of a digital course which ensures the upgrading of all necessary competence.
