Storm P. Museum

Satire and great ambitions

Storm P. The museum is a small museum with a large collection and equally big ambitions. Both when it comes to communicating Storm P’s works and the contemporary art that is based on humor and satire.

The museum is housed in a listed building on Frederiksberg Runddel in Copenhagen. A major renovation in 2011-12 brought the safeguarding and fire protection of the old building to a level that allows the museum to put on special exhibitions of borrowed works.

The Storm P. Museum has chosen a fire protection solution from Fire Eater as it could be installed in the building without major intervention. The initial research showed that a traditional sprinkler system would have required major rebuild of the listed building, as well cause irreparable water damage in the event of a fire.

“Thanks to our solution, fire protection is not something we need to think about on a daily basis. It is a great relief when you are responsible for the incredible cultural heritage that Storm P’s works constitute and for the valuable works we have on loan. “ It is our aim to be relevant and show Storm P’s importance in a contemporary understanding, but like many other museums, we are challenged on everything relating to safety and contingency plans.” < / em>
