Fire protection of cold storage of e.g. medicines or food make special demands when choosing the extinguishing method. An Inergen system is a very safe and effective solution that usually extinguishes a fire in a maximum of 40 seconds and prevents subsequent reignition.

Inergen works effectively even at low freezing temperatures where other extinguishing agents are not suitable. There is often a very dry atmosphere in freezer rooms with an increased risk of static electricity. Freezers are often insulated internally with a foam material that can be very flammable. Freezers are expensive to operate. With an Inergen system in a cold storage, you can optimize the utilization of the room optimally in height because there is not the same distance requirement for nozzles as there is, for example, for sprinkler nozzles. Thus lower operating costs.

How Inergen works in a cold storage

An Inergen system from Fire Eater uses sensitive detectors that automatically react to fire and activate Inergen via nozzles.

An Inergen plant uses 3D extinguishing. Here, the type of air is released under pressure, which means that it is quickly distributed everywhere in the room – even in places that are normally difficult to reach. This makes this extinguishing method very efficient and suitable for places where there is little space and many valuable products are stored.
